Uncle Chico Newsletter # 246

Another huge incongruity noted in the frail and fanciful thesis of such OFB…

In a quick analysis of the OFB standard the theory is very far from reality…

Conclusion: OFB = “fila-pointer” !!!

My dears CAFIB and Fila Brasileiro (FB) friends,

For your analysis I make available below four Standards, the first three of the True Fila Brasileiro (*)  and the last one of the OFB.

(*) As it is known, the CBKC-FCI Standard exist only in theory, because in these clubs the breeding of “fila” and FB is characterized by the diversity and total heterogeneity of  types.

Would you please analyze and verify yourselves as the True Fila Brasileiro Standard — and even the CBKC-FCI Standard in theory — fit the photo below posted to the left of a FB breed and registered in CAFIB.

Would you please analyze and further verify that the OFB Standard is totally distant and does not present the breed characteristics described, determined and required in this OFB Standard, when compared to the photo posted on the right side of a OFB mentor’s dog, which he himself presents as being a worthy representative of this new dog type called OFB !

Standards:

1. FB Standard of KCP-BKC dated 1951 (**):

Prepared by Paulo Santos Cruz, João Ebner  and Erwin Waldemar Rathsan, according to books written by Paulo Godinho, “FB – A gift from the stars” dated  2013 and by Luiz Hermanny Filho, “The Dog, our best friend” dated 1957:

(**) This Standard is often wrongly called the Paulo Santos Cruz Standard or PSCruz Standard or PSC Standard. However, this definition is also used consciously by those who follow the CAFIB Standard but is unwilling to assume this fact, since CAFIB’s success bothers the “poor in spirit.”

General Appearance: Fila Brasileiro is a typical breed of the Molossoid family: large size, very strong bone and musculature

Head: always big and heavy in relation to the body, square and massive in appearance, typically brachycephalic …

2. CAFIB Standard dated 1978:

Prepared by Paulo Santos Cruz (***) with the help of the founders of CAFIB, among them, Américo Cardoso, Airton Campbell, Luiz Maciel,  according to CAFIB website:

General Appearance: Typically molossoid breed. Big size; powerful mass, robust bone, giving the impression of an encouraging concentration of strength and power, but without seeming, nor being, heavy, slow, apathetic…

Head: brachycephalic, large, heavy …

(***) In view of all the knowledge acquired by Dr. Paulo Santos Cruz since the 40s / 50s was transferred, assembled and unified by himself to CAFIB in 1978, nothing can be done by those who at all costs try to modify history to claim as valid thought of Dr. Paulo those before the founding of CAFIB.

That is, the Fila Brasileiro was once again breed and respected, whether or not wants’ the mentor of OFB, since the foundation of CAFIB.

The greatest example of this truth is that the OFB phenotype has been Disapproved hundreds of times in the CAFIB Analyses of Phenotype and Temperament (APT), many of which have been judged by Dr. Paulo himself, as already proven numerous times in https://filabrasileirochicopeltierblog.wordpress.com/ .

I think it is not honest that the OFB mentor, without any arguments, tries desperately to cling to the opinions, photos and texts of Dr. Paulo before CAFIB foundation, since with the advent of CAFIB these have become obsolete and outdated.

The fact is that the so-called Stepfathers of the Fila Brasileiro do not accept that CAFIB is the only club responsible for having rescued the Fila Brasileiro from extinction and has preserved it until today in its breed  purity as imagined and defended by Dr. Paulo !!!

To conclude: if Dr. Paulo was alive he would disapproved OFB again, since in life he already did it!

3. CBKC Standard  # 225 dated  2016:

Written by unknown author but  based on CBKC website:

General Appearance: Typically molossoid breed. Powerful bone, rectangular figure and compact, harmonious and proportional …

Head: large, heavy, massive …

4. OFB Standard dated  2018,

Written by unknown author but  based on OFB facebook:

General Appearance: OFB is a typical breed of the Molossoid family: great size, bone and musculature very strong…

Head: always large and heavy in relation to the body, massive in appearance, typically brachycephalic …

So, I ask which of the two dogs below is indisputably presented as having the typical phenotype of the large molossoid family dog, with very strong bones and muscles and having a large, massive brachycephalic head ? The CAFIB True Fila Brasileiro  below to the left or the OFB also below to the right?

           CAFIB True FB                Such OFB

Zenon + Bronco

After all, which of the dog types above do you really understand that is a worthy representative of a typical breed of the Molossoid Family ?

Which of the two dogs above actually presents itself as a large dog, with very strong bones and musculature, with a large, heavy, massive  and brachycephalic head ?

Which of the two dogs above is fragile, delicate, and seems more like a “fila-pointer “?

Even when the fools will be fooled by new and fanciful theses of new models of dogs that try to pass through the True Fila Brasileiro, just as it happened in the 1970s, when unscrupulous breeders with the institutional and systemic support of BKC, CBKC and FCI miscegenated  the FB, causing a terrible damage to the honest and correct FB breeding?

Why to accept silent and docilely a second miscegenation in the FB ?

The mentor of the OFB has every right to invent and manufacture a new dog type and try to make this a new breed. But he should not in any way misuse the FILA name, confusing it with the name of the True Fila Brasileiro. And let alone claim that his dog is the “original” one and that the True Fila Brasileiro breed  in CAFIB and Unifila are false !!! I hope that the OFB mentor corrects these initial misconceptions and with a lot of work, resources, time and luck he reaches a proven fixed and homogeneous dog  breed. To post pictures of funny puppies playing is easy; but why does not the OFB mentor post  several pictures of typical, homogeneous and adult OFBs? I wish him my sincere wishes for correction and success !!! Personally I would very much like Brazil to have one more dog breed that, who knows, could be called Boiadeiro Mineiro (Cattle Dog of Minas Gerais State) or Boiadeiro de Governador Valadares  (Cattle Dog of the City of Governador Valadares ).

Conclusions:

1. The OFB does not respect and disagrees with its own Standard;

2. Unfortunately the mentor of the OFB began its work in a very misleading way, more concerned with destroying the Fila Brasileiro that has already been consecrated for 41 years and not trying to create his own type of dog that in fact he has every right to aim.

Best regards, Chico Peltier.
